A closer look at user groups

Written by Tyler on November 3rd, 2007

As I am still an undergrad (graduating in May), homework continues to plague me, but thankfully, I’m taking courses that are pretty applicable to my field. I just handed in a project that I think some of you may find interesting.

While I had done lots of work with user groups and usability testing, I was introduced to the concepts of “personas”. This is the idea that the best way to focus your work, whether it’s a website, flyer, or even technical literature, is to draft up an in-depth account of one individual who typifies a particular user group. In the case of my project, that was in relation to my upcoming web portfolio redesign.

The two personas I arrived to were Timothy and Ted. You can see them below. Enjoy!
